Trophy Whitetails

Join us for the ultimate Texas whitetail hunting experience and witness the fruits of over 20 years of intense whitetail and wildlife management. While hunting Montgomery Properties Ranch you will see whitetail, turkey and other native wildlife in their highly managed environment. When you book a whitetail hunt with our operation, don't expect to experience a revolving door on the camp house like in many other outfits. You will never see more than five to six hunters on the ranch at any one time. We feel an important part of your trip is to allow you and your guide the freedom to roam the ranch and experience all wildlife and scenery as if it were your own.

The hunts are guided one-on-one unless otherwise requested (i.e. father and son or husband and wife) and the guide will determine the maturity of the deer. Mainly you will hunt out of spacious, heated blinds overlooking the lush wheat fields and wide senderos, or if you dare, try some of the best rattling found in Texas. With our 1:1 buck-to-doe ratio, it can be spectacular. Don't forget your camera or else you'll miss excellent photo and video opportunities.

Red Stag

A new species of game has been spotted around Montgomery Properties Ranch. Sporting magnificent racks resembling an animal from prehistoric times and bellowing deep roars in anticipation of the breeding season, trophy red stags now roam the ridge tops and valleys of the 5,000-acre ranch.

The perfect compliment to our trophy whitetail hunts, try your hand at a challenging red stag after harvesting one of our monster bucks, or revolve your entire hunt around one of these red giants. Either way, we know your heart will race when these large creatures and their enormous antlers step in to view!

Aoudad

Mysterious creatures that seldom make an appearance, our population of aoudad will try the patience and match wits with any seasoned hunter. Many of our aoudad have roamed the ranch for years, allowing ample time for their horns to sprawl into a huge mass. It's not uncommon to see male aoudad with horns curving back and touching their bodies. Over the years, hunters at MPR have harvested a multitude of aoudad sporting horns measuring over 30 inches. Considered an exotic species in Texas, you can hunt aoudad any time of the year. This makes for a perfect off-season hunt or combination with a trophy whitetail or red stag hunt.

Hunt Fees & Neccessities

Montgomery Properties requires half of the booking fee as deposit (non-refundable), payable when the hunt is booked. The remaining booking fee is to be paid upon arrival at the ranch. Additional trophy fees incurred upon the harvest of an animal must be paid prior to leaving the ranch.

The only necessities to bring include:

- Rifle and ammo (good to bring a back-up in case of malfunction)
- Clothing
- Personal items
- Cooler large enough to transport meat back home
- Texas Hunting License

Wildlife Management

With over 7 generations of ranching in the Montgomery family history, we have developed a knack for animal husbandry and range management. Today, we continue that heritage not only with livestock, but with the wildlife that call the ranch home. Over 20 years later, the results of our wildlife management program can be seen in the success of our hunting operation and in the smiles of our hunters.

As research has shown, there are several important factors vital to the success of any whitetail or wildlife management program. At MPR, we have studied hard and practiced even harder, and not only do we employ the latest management techniques, we have adapted them to maximize the potential of our the ranch's wildlife and habitat.

Through an aggressive food plot program, our wildlife experience supplemental feeding that Emeril Lagasse would be highly proud of! With nutrition rich food plots tailored to specific times of the year, wildlife and whitetails have year round forage vital to their health allowing them to reach their maximum potential. In addition, we increase our supplemental feeding program to include certain grains and protein feed throughout the year, ensuring healthy fawn crops and the strong antler development we have come to be known for. Our free choice protein feed program further enhances the choices available to our trophy whitetails and benefits other game and wildlife.

Our obvious focus is on producing trophy whitetails year after year. In doing so, we must control not only the population, but also the genetic pool that manufacturers our whitetail herd's offspring each year. To achieve our goals in maximizing antler growth and building a genetically superior herd, we at times introduce outside genetics from not only our whitetail breeding program, but from other top breeding programs throughout Texas and North America. This has helped us in establishing a far superior herd compared to that of the local population and other hunting ranches. In turn, our hunters have the opportunity to witness trophy whitetail hunting at it's best!
